In this issues run of The Splatter I got to work closely with Archie. I've booked him before for the second issue of Cazineque. We had Sunday on The Splatter and we did this Bride of Frankenstein inspired shoot. featuring him now we sorta did this meta photographic kind of shoot where the subject in Archie's eyes was me but the subject in our eyes was Archie in his environment. We wanted to celebrate not just the work of the artist but the face behind the camera. Archies photography focuses on commissioned work and photographing night life. Theres a sense of livelihood as he captures the true nature of life on a night out or on a trip outta state.
Tell us about yourself, where did Archie come from?
Archie came from a dj name I had to come up with on the spot! I was learning how to dj in 2018, and a friend who was throwing a pup party asked me to dj it. He asked what my dj/pup name would be and I was always a big fan of king krule (Archie Marshall) and figured Archie resonated with me, because also red haired.
How did you get into photography and is it more of a passion, hobby, or job?
I started doing photo as a way of expressing myself. I was in school for 16mm film and taught myself photo on the side just to get more insight with the process. A big inspiration for me is the music I listen to. It was a hobby and now a job, but will always be a passion for me.

What’s something you'd like to explore on your journey as an artist?
I couldn’t even tell you something I’d like to explore, honestly. I feel like photo is just an extension of who I am. And I’m always changing and growing. And I feel like my work reflects that. If I think too much about photography then it doesn’t feel natural to me. Whatever I end up exploring will be just as much as a surprise for you, as it is for myself :)
Any projects coming up that you're excited for?
A fun project I started is definitely this little brand called Fat Boy I’ve started. Just shirts for now but I’d like to eventually get it to be more or less a “movement”. I want to do something creative and just have all my friends be a part of it. I feel like before COVID and when I was in college everything used to be just fun collaborative projects. I’m trying to get back into that world, but I’d like to expand into clothing and physical media, like this beautiful zine :)
